The state of Missouri repealed the puppy mill proposition after voters passed it last March.
Now a group of angry voters want to vote in a new initiative to stop the Missouri legislators from overturning their votes.
Proposition B was the most high profile Missouri repeal of the voters. But the Your Vote Counts campaign says there are many more cases of voters being overturned in our state than the rest of the country.

There are many citizen petitions circulating, but the most important is "Your Vote Counts" because, if passed in November, this constitutional amendment would force state legislators to respect the will of the voters.

The disregard for democracy and the will of the people has inspired a new initiative that signature gatherers hope to get on the state ballot this November. The initiative is entitled "Your Vote Counts" (formerly the Voters Protection Act).
The initiative would preserve the voters' right to pass laws, which is an essential democratic option in view of the legislature's inability to act on such items as payday loans. Also, the legislature would be required to have a two-thirds majority of both houses in order to undo a law passed by Missouri residents on the state ballot.
